A fast growing premium food company is looking for a Staff Accountant to be responsible for supporting the bookkeeping duties and assist with period close. This is an ideal position for an individual seeking an integral role in a dynamic business with a diverse set of responsibilities.
This is a growth-oriented position with a wide array of duties. These duties range from day-to-day accounting activities to support in the preparation of month-end close. This person will work under defined deadlines and must be able to manage the daily A/P and A/R. This role will provide critical support functions to the executive team.

Staff Accountant

Responsibilities for this position include:
Accounts Receivable
- Invoicing customers for shipped orders
- Matching invoice/shipped quantity to the purchase order quantity
- Maintain and monitor open and paid invoices for each customer weekly
- Running regular A/R aging reports and investigating significantly late receivables
Accounts Payable
- Responsible for data entry of all purchase orders and corresponding incoming invoices
- Matching of vendor invoice amounts and quantities with warehouse receipt quantity and purchase order amount and quantity
- Maintain and monitor open and paid purchase orders by vendor
- Review vendor statements and reconcile to open balances
- Preparing vendor check/ACH runs
- Allocation of lump sum freight invoices to the appropriate GL accounts
- Regular monitoring of A/P aging reports and investigating overdue payables
- Allocation of bank statement charges
Period Close
- Assist with month-end inventory reconciliation
- Assist corporate with month-end freight expense and brokerage revenue accruals
- Prepare bank account reconciliations
- Communicate with the warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- Four years minimum relevant accounting experience
- Experience with a large ERP system
- College Graduate
