Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $170,000-$210,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.

REPORTING TO AND BACKGROUND:
The role reports to Ray Naughtin.  Ray has strong experience (previous experience as Head of Tax for both Wish and AppDynamics.  Started his career in public accounting and was a Senior Manager at EY and a partner at a small CPA firm) and prides himself on being a great mentor, always making himself available to answer any questions they may have, doesn’t micromanage and believes in promoting his staff from within (there are multiple examples of this).

WHY POSITION IS OPEN:
This is a replacement position but the previous candidate left in good standing and had nothing but positive things to say about the team and culture.  Niantic used to have a 100% remote work environment, but recently changed to a hybrid work environment.  Therefore, the previous candidate wanted to continue working for a company that offered a 100% remote role and she found one.

SUPERVISE
This is an individual contributor role.  As the company grows the goal is for this manager to add headcount and become a people manager.

HOW YOU WILL BE COMPENSATED:
Base + Bonus + RSU’s

OPPORTUNITY FOR GROWTH:
Absolutely!  Niantic believes in growing staff and promoting people from within.  For example on the tax team Ray joined as the Senior Director of Tax and he was promoted to VP of Tax.  Jeanett joined as a Senior Manager of Tax and she was promoted to Director.  The incumbent joined as a senior tax accountant and was promoted to Manager.

BENEFITS AND PERKS:
  • Robust vision, dental, healthcare including 100% paid employee healthcare
  • OneMedical same-day healthcare
  • 16 weeks of parental leave for parents
  • Parental leave transition assistance by Cleo
  • Mental healthcare on-demand by Spring Health
  • 401k Match
  • Cell-phone, gym, and internet stipend
  • Employer discounts via PerkSpot
  • Attend Niantic community events - one day per quarter
  • SoFi & Personal Capital personal financial advisement
  • Wellness activities including yoga and meditation
  • 100% of premiums for long term and short term disability and life insurance
  • Unlimited sick time
  • Paid time off
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks all day, every day

  • Equity in Niantic
  • Volunteer off-sites
  • Affinity Groups

INTERVIEW PROCESS:
1st round:  30 min Zoom interview with Ray
2nd round: Panel interview w/team and cross functional business partners
3rd round:  Ray potentially may resync with the candidate
