Senior SEC & SOX Analyst

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:  
Our client is focused on developing and commercializing products intended to transform the way calcified cardiovascular disease is treated. The company aims to establish a new standard of care for the interventional treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque, which the company refers to as Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL). IVL is a minimally invasive, easy-to-use and safe way to significantly improve patient outcomes. 
LOCATION: Santa Clara on hybrid basis.  Finance is there 3 days per week and flexible on the days. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Our client is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview
The company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Corporate Accounting & External Reporting team as an Sr SEC Reporting/SOX Accountant. The ideal candidate possesses a strong set of research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, is a great communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in the Company’s external financial reporting process, including preparation of its quarterly and annual reporting (Form 10-Q and Form 10-K), earnings release (Form 8-K), and annual proxies
  • Prepare earnings per share, equity rollforward, statement of cash flows and other PBC deliverables
  • Complete quarterly and annual disclosure checklists and ensure that financial disclosures comply with US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Assist in XBRL review
  • Perform technical accounting research and draft technical memos as needed
  • Maintain the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) compliance program documents, including the risk control matrix, narratives, etc.
  • Ensure controls are performed properly and consistently throughout the organization, and assist with SOX testing as needed
  • Interact with external auditors to facilitate completion of quarterly reviews and interim/annual audit procedures efficiently
Requirements
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, including experience in public accounting performing audits of publicly listed companies
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience in life science/medical device industry is a plus
  • Workiva experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high attention to details. Able to stay flexible and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple competing assignments and achieve deadlines
  • High attention to detail, organization, and able to prioritize duties

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure:$110,000-$140,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
