COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Our client is the largest team of dedicated fleet maintenance experts in the nation. With over 120,000 assets under contract at over 700 locations nationwide, the Company provides comprehensive service solutions for private, public and for-hire fleets. Customers include, Amazon, FedEx, EV fleets and more.
LOCATION: Walnut Creek, CA. The finance team is in the office 5X a week, but there is a lot of flexibility. There is talk of moving to a hybrid schedule, but that is TBD.
Option for this person to be located in Charlotte, NC.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary
The Company, one of the leading Fleet Maintenance companies in the U.S., is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team! The Senior Accountant will report to and work closely with the Accounting Manager and others in the organization to complete month end closing procedures including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures.
The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, upload and post journal entries and accruals. Research and resolve the proper accounting treatment for transactions relevant to assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with GAAP and established Company policy.
- Assist with the month end close process and communicate with other departments to ensure all information requirements and reporting deadlines are met.
- Assist and participate in the monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes including certain schedules and processes for monthly and quarterly financial reporting package
- Work cross-functionally with various departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting.
- Prepare month end close account reconciliations
- Ad hoc reporting and other responsibilities as assigned
- Assist finance management with technical accounting projects
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance preferred
- 2+ years of public accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Knowledge and solid experience with FASB and SEC guidance
- Knowledge of cost of goods sold similar to a manufacturing environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and desire for continuous improvement and learning.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and proactiveness.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize workload while meeting tight deadlines
