COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Our client is an established real estate investment firm with over $35 billion in AUM across a wide range of investment strategies and asset types across the U.S with offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, and Chicago. The firm’s investment portfolio comprises office, industrial, retail, residential and hospitality properties throughout the United States.
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA. Hybrid. They would like the person to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Asset Management team with real estate transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, financings, etc.
- Responsible for cash projections/planning for the fund (includes direct interaction with Portfolio Manager). Including preparation of capital calls, distributions and general cash management.
- Partner with the Portfolio Management and Client Relations teams to provide necessary financial information for current and prospective investors.
- Responsible for calculation of performance reporting for fund, investors and investments.
- Research complex accounting issues and assist the Controller in formulating appropriate response.
- Provide direct supervision of third-party property accountants.
- Review properties’ monthly distribution calculations.
- Review properties’ monthly reporting package prepared by third-party property manager.
- Prepare/review fund’s quarterly reporting package in an accurate and timely manner, which includes preparation of GAAP fair value financial statements, investor reports, questionnaires and loan compliance reporting.
- Coordinate the external audits. Prepare accurate and complete audit packages and provide timely, complete and accurate responses to external auditor’s questions or requests for information.
- Provide tax preparers with accounting information requested for quarterly REIT testing and income tax return preparation.
- Undertake other assigned duties from time-to-time.
- Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of accounting experience, with minimum 2 years of public accounting experience or 4 years of Real Estate industry experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Real estate or private equity background strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Must be comfortable and confident to work autonomously and proactively with limited supervision.
- Capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines.
- Should possess a strong team-oriented work ethic and energy.
