Job Description


Our client, a SaaS/Technology Company is looking for a hands-on leader to oversee their accounting function end-to-end. This is a fantastic opportunity to operate as the right-hand partner to the CFO. You’ll be driving the development of tools, processes, and procedures to allow the company to scale, and develop the team to meet the long-term needs of the organization.

 

Hybrid, in Austin is preferred. This role will have a duration of 4-6+ months with the possibility to extend.

 

Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting department functions: G/L, A/P, A/R, Credit & Collections, F/A, International Accounting, and Payroll.
  • Manage month-end close, and optimize to improve speed, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Deliver financial statements and prepare the monthly close package for the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Support monthly & quarterly reporting for investors.
  • Review contracts and ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP (NOTE: Most heavy lifting is done by the Revenue Manager)
  • Supervise and develop a high-performing accounting team that can scale with growth.
  • Develop and enhance internal controls and drive the development of internal policies & procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns (income, sales, use, etc.)
  • Manage the financial audit end-to-end

 

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, required
  • CPA and prior Big-4 experience is preferred, but not required
  • 8+ years of progressive experience within accounting organizations
  • Experience working in SaaS and/or a technology company with foundational knowledge of ASC 605/606
  • Solid GAAP accounting expertise: FASB is nice to have
  • NetSuite or Tier One ERP, experience is required
  • Strong Excel acumen is required
