Job Description

This is a hybrid role in Austin; however, the company is open to relocation.  Good longevity with the prior person and the entire accounting team.  Portfolio is around $1.4B, good stability in the company.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • At least 9-12 years of accounting experience, including 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • MS Office / Microsoft Excel advanced skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Commercial Real Estate Accounting
  • Experience with Yardi commercial property accounting ERP system preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial leases and experience performing NNN year-end reconciliations in Excel or Yardi.
  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • This person will oversee 8 supporting accounting staff who are engaged in the financial management and reporting for a portfolio of 65+ commercial properties.
  • Ensure distribution of monthly variance analysis report.
  • Forecast cash flows for the portfolio of properties.
  • Work with senior management on special projects.
  • Assist asset managers with miscellaneous tenant relations issues.
  • Oversee staff accountants whose primary responsibility is handling the transaction accounting functions, to include AP and AR.
  • Oversee Senior accountants whose primary responsibilities are:
    1. Monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow projections for assigned properties.
    2. Compile monthly financials for assigned properties.
    3. Set up all new leases and lease renewals for assigned properties.
    4. Complete year-end CAM reconciliations on a timely basis for assigned properties.
    5. Assist in establishing annual budgets for assigned properties.
    6. Prepare Excel sheet with all information for year-end tax return preparation.
    7. On-board new property acquisitions from setting up property to performing loan details form.
