BVOH is seeking an exceptional Business Development Manager/Director with a proven track record of successfully creating revenue within new and existing accounts. This is a “hunter” role but also maintains the “face to the client” throughout the delivery process. You will work hand in hand with the firm’s leaders, manage your own priorities and be rewarded for results. You will also have a large influence on how the business evolves over time.

  • Identify and prioritize new business opportunities and develop a strategy to close new accounts.
  • Continually develop new client business by penetrating existing clients as well as target prospects.
  • Engage in prospecting activities including participation in networking groups and professional organizations, direct email and phone outreach, and cross-selling existing BVOH relationships.
  • Initiate and attend a high volume of new business meetings per month.
  • Execute and delivers against established KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement tactical plans to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Manage a pipeline and adjusts daily activity to meet forecasted gross margin.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key referral partners.
  • Regularly coach consultants on assignment to minimize project risk, and identify new opportunities or stakeholders within existing accounts to ensure seamless redeployment and account penetration.
  • Collaborate and partner closely with BVOH executive search team to deliver the best of BVOH to clients and present a consistent and unified solution.
  • Partner closely with consulting recruiters and talent managers to manage delivery performance and mitigate project risk.
  • Set client expectations throughout the lifecycle of the project – from sourcing talent through completion of deliverables. Anticipate and solve problems to provide the best possible experience for the client.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure successful project launch and consultant onboarding/offboarding.
  • Utilize CRM to organize, track and report activities
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years business development or client service experience in a middle market company
  • Proven success in creating revenue and penetrating accounts
  • Experience selling professional services within large accounts preferred 
  • Experience selling services/products to CFOs and other financial leaders
  • Strong capacity for networking and generating lasting business relationships
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sense of urgency and strong goal orientation

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $80,000-$115,000.
An applicant may additionally be eligible to participate in certain incentive compensation programs based on achieving certain performance targets set forth each year and subject to the incentive compensation plan’s terms and conditions.
