LOCATION: This position is hybrid, 2 days per week in office.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Analyst, Portfolio Finance position will focus on financial analysis and valuation of portfolio investments, in addition to driving financial operational process improvements within the firm. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional problem-solving skills, communication skills and strong attention to detail. The position requires the ability to juggle competing responsibilities while prioritizing.
As part of the Portfolio Finance function at the Company, the Analyst will gain exposure to a range of financial projects and initiatives. The mandate of the Portfolio Finance function is to be a strong steward of financial and operational knowledge to support our internal and external stakeholders. The Analyst will have experience working on different ad hoc projects to drive the betterment of the firm.

The Responsibilities
Investment Valuations
- Prepare detailed quarterly valuations for fund drivers, while ensuring consistency and adherence to valuation policies
- Enhance the valuation process by building out tools and processes to increase visibility and ability to identify deviations from expectations
- Develop, launch and maintain a system to track objectives at time of investment and compare quarterly to company progress
- Collaborate with the Fund Accounting team on valuations for financial reporting purposes
- Prepare fund and portfolio performance analysis, and utilize industry data
- Develop and leverage financial and business reporting systems to provide management with relevant and timely information to make informed business decisions, including the funds’ cash flow
- Support the internal budget process for the firm; track budget to actual results
- Be a main point of contact (coordinate and manage) for third party contractors
- Support Fundraising activities of the firm by performing ad hoc analysis and supporting data room management
- Be a trusted contact and provide support to portfolio companies’ finance teams
- Manage ad hoc financial operational programs and initiatives and partner with internal stakeholders to drive improvement in processes
- 2-4 years of experience in valuations and/or finance (accounting a plus)
- Minimum of BS or equivalent degree
- Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced competency with Excel; familiarity with data analytical tools, previous experience with ERP systems a plus
- Experience in the venture capital and/or private equity industry, a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and manage to tight time schedules
- Must work well in a very dynamic, intellectually rigorous, deadline driven culture
