Accounting Consultant

Job Description
Our client, a venture capital firm, is looking for an Accounting Consultant to support their accounting team by helping with various projects, and some administrative types of tasks as well as communicating with their portfolio companies.
Ideally, they would like for the consultant to come into the office for training and then open to 100% remote work. This role will have a duration of 4-6 weeks with the possibility of extending to 4+ months.
Responsibilities
The most pressing project that will take an estimated 4-6 week will be very hands on and some of the work will include:
- Track missing stock certificates, follow up with the portfolio companies, maintain a tracker with all the information.
- Make sure we have final docs saved to server and follow up with lawyers to obtain missing documents.
- Maintain a tax return status tracker.
- Wire update review, verbal call backs
If the consultant has fund accounting experience, after the project above is completed, they could move them into a fund accounting consulting role to cover for someone going out on leave
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented
- Analytical
- Strong communication skills
- Basic accounting experience
- Ideal candidate would have experience within the asset management industry but this is not required for the 1st 4-6 weeks.
- For the longer, maternity leave coverage project, they would like to find an experience fund accounting manager
