Responsibilities
Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Collaborate with the Clinical & CMC Departments and other cross functional departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical accrual. Including, reviewing and analyze clinical/CMC contracts and change orders, vendor financial reports and invoices, compare and reconcile data to purchase orders, budgets, work orders, to prepare the clinical/CMC accrual journal entries.
- Prepare account reconciliations, roll forward schedules, flux analysis and other ad hoc schedules for other assigned accounts.
- Participate and assist in our ongoing SOX compliance and internal control requirements.
- Assist with audit requests including supporting the PBC schedules for the quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
- Responsible for various federal and state tax filings including Delaware franchise tax, California sales and use tax and property tax filings.
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects, research, and supplemental reporting as needed.
- Assist with systems and process enhancements including optimizing the capabilities of various financial systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive general accounting experience in a public company or in an auditing firm.
- Experience working in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry a plus.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Proven ability to work with and communicate effectively across all levels across the organization.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company and external stakeholders.
- Must be capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint required and NetSuite accounting software experience a plus.
