SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, Product Operations to join our SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team. The candidate will report to the Senior Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting and will have significant interactions with Global Supply Chain, Global Operation Finance, Global Logistics, Business Group Finance, Global Cost Accounting, IT, Tax, and Corporate FP&A.
This is a great role for a candidate who is interested in both technical accounting and operational accounting. The candidate will own the technical accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold (“COGS”) and play a critical role in operational accounting related to inventory (e.g. determining inventory reserve and monitoring policy compliance of all inventory-related activities). The role will have also opportunities to work on other accounting topics based on the candidate’s experience & interest and the team’s needs.
We are looking to hire a highly motivated team leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a deep interest in both technical accounting & operations to join our team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Build strong partnerships with cross-function teams including Global Supply Chain, Global Operation Finance, Business Group Finance, Global Cost Accounting, and Corporate FP&A to provide accounting guidance, support the business and be an expert on all U.S. GAAP matters relating to inventory and COGS
· Own and lead global inventory reserve process and supervise the high-performance inventory reserve team through quarter-end close processes
· Lead technical accounting consultation and policy development/update initiatives related to inventory and COGS
· Research, evaluate, and prepare technical accounting memos for complex and non-standard transactions related to inventory and COGS
· Work with cross-functional teams to monitor the compliance to and appropriate application of the Company’s policies related to all inventory-related activities and accounts (e.g. inventory counts, standard costing setting, cost accounting, and etc.)
· Coordinate and analyze activities relating to inventory matters with the Company’s FP&A organization
· Prepare and present the financial package to controllership and senior management to support business decisions
· Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory and inventory reserve processes and lead the project to work with IT on ongoing system enhancements and/or automation
· Lead/play an important role in technical accounting in accounting areas/topics other than inventory and COGS, as needed
· Lead /participate in special projects and initiatives and support any ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams
· Perform processes and procedures to comply with SOX 404 control framework
· Assist in the company's internal/external audit
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
· U.S. CPA license required
· Minimum 8-10+ years of progressive professional experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and public company industry experience
· Must have a working knowledge of inventory, inventory reserve, and COGS
· Knowledge and experience with ASC 606 are preferred but not required
· Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Experience in managing process improvement and system integration preferred
