Our client, a hybrid hedge fund / private equity firm which was founded in 2012 and has grown from $400 million to $25 billion of AUM, is hiring a Private Equity Fund Accounting Manager. 

We have placed 7-8 members on the accounting team over the past five years, all of whom, except one, have remained with the firm. They have a small and cohesive team so cultural fit is their top priority. They have amazing offices located in the Presidio.

This is a fun environment and very different than your standard, stodgy financial services firm. They hire people who are smart, outgoing, and enjoy working as a team.

Job Description:

This position has responsibility for firm’s accounting and reporting function as it relates to all aspects of its funds, including capital calls, distributions, management fee, waterfall calculations, NAV package review, capital account statements, fund performance metrics, and supporting the year end audits. ACCOUNTING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate/graduate degree in accounting

• 5-8 years experience (asset mgmt)

• CPA license or path to CPA desired, but not required

• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

• Experience with Investran a plus, but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Quarterly and annual closing procedures for all funds

•Responsible for fund related activities including:

·        Capital calls

·        Distributions

·        Requests for information

·        Maintaining accounting and legal records

•Performance reporting, IRR calculations and waterfall calculations

•Liaise with administrator to address accounting questions/issues

•Support the interim and annual audits

•Maintenance of in-house accounting system (Investran)

Additional Exposure:

•Private valuations

•Annual and other compliance filings

•Fund/SPV formation

•Tax compliance

•Special projects with respect to overall firm operations

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $120,000-$170,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
