CFO Consultant
Our client, is a high growth alternative investments firm, is looking for a CFO Consultant (Fractional or Full time) to support their growing team by overseeing both the accounting and finance for the company funds and will also manage the accounting and finance operations for several of their portfolio companies (primarily focus within real estate).
This role will work onsite at their offices in Austin, TX., and will have a duration of 4 months with the possibility for a longer-term consulting project and/or a permanent CFO role at the company.

Responsibilities
the basic responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Reporting to the Founder, the CFO will manage the finance and accounting operations for the company funds and several of their portfolio companies.
- Company’s corporate responsibilities:
- Manage finance for their GP entities as well as their 3 funds
- Oversee the close process and relationship with their fund admin partner, Nav Consulting
- SEC compliance
- Manage relationship with their audit firm and tax advisors
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for all funds, which includes updating investment schedules, partner equity allocations and analyzing complex investment transactions.
- Lead the Portfolio Companies’ valuations and analysis process.
- Determine cash needs and oversee capital calls.
- Review portfolio companies financing documents and approve funding disbursement.
- Calculate capital and carry and prepare fund distribution allocations and notices to investors.
- Consistently interact with LPs through explaining financial statements and capital statements, reviewing LP special requests and answering ad-hoc questions.
- Electronically distribute financial statements, K1s, capital call and distribution notices to Limited Partners
- Portfolio company responsibilities:
- Oversight of accounting and finance operations of several portfolio companies that are primarily in the real estate industry
- Identify opportunities to implement systems and process to streamline portfolio company operations
- Help prepare financial statements
- Review the work of portfolio company internal finance teams
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is required.
- Experience with SEC reporting within a private equity firm or registered investment advisor
- Fund accounting within a PE, VC, Fund of Funds or Real Estate Investment firm
- Real Estate industry experience
- Experience working at the Controller, VP Finance or CFO level
